On 26 November 2025, Nakase Laboratory held the welcome party to celebrate the three new members who joined the laboratory this autumn. The first is Wang Qiushi (求是王), new PhD student from China. He joined Nakase Laboratory to perform research in separation chemistry, on the support of back-end radioactive waste management. The second is Alessio Rossi, an exchange PhD student from Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI), Switzerland. An Italian by origin (and nationality), Alessio will work on fuel cycle simulation on Switzerland nuclear energy programme, as well as analysing the possible integration between NMB4 fuel cycle simulator, developed by JAEA-Science Tokyo, with EQL0D procedure, developed by PSI. Last but not least, Subrata Saha, a visiting researcher from Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), working on the scenario study of Bangladesh nuclear energy programme.
We held the welcome party at Garuda Café; an Indonesian restaurant located adjacent to Kamata Station. We tasted various authentic Indonesian cuisine, including the all-time favourite Mie Ayam (Indonesian-style chicken noodle). The foods were delicious and the lab members really enjoyed their time.
Welcome to Nakase Laboratory, and please enjoy your time in Japan!
